'Open' Season on USGA Website

Thursday, June 17 - It's round one of the US Open, and there's a bunch of new online "toys" for you to sample at the USGA's official Open website. They include an interactive play tracker with a new birds-eye view of the action, a heat-mapping feature so you can see which holes are playing the toughest at any given time, and expanded Facebook and Twitter involvement. It is all at www.usopen.com.

Variety: Congrats to Commonwealth National GC assistant pro Travis Deibert, who came out of the pack with a nifty 4-under par 68 on day two at Whitemarsh Valley to win the Philadelphia PGA's Variety Tournament of Champions.  Bala GC's Bill Walker finished one shot back.

Deerwood CC's Greg Farrow and Radnor Valley CC's George Forster tied for Senior Division honors at 2-under par.
