Phils leave Boston with a W
Led by another solid outing by Cole Hamels, the Phils knocked in 5 runs and aviod the swept, beating the Red Sox 5-3. Hamels(W, 6-5) surrendered just 1 run on 5 hits through 7 innings. Brad Lidge allowed 1 hit, striking out 1 in the 2 out save, his 4th save of season.
Offensively the Phils loaded the bases in the 1st with no one out. Ryan Howard would record out#1 with a fly out, Shane Victorino unable to convert from 3rd. Next batter Jayson Werth grounded into an inning ending double play. 4 of the team's 5 runs were recorded in the 4th. Raul Ibanez a 2 run homerun(4th). Werth and Castro rbi singles.
Phils have Monday off. On Tuesday they return to where last season ended, as Roy Halladay will face C.C. Sabathia in the start of a 3 game set with the Yankees, up in the Bronx.
